Heller Theatre Company is bringing serialized storytelling to the Tulsa stage with this exciting new project. On the second Sunday of each month, five original scenes will be performed. The audience will pick their favorites, and the Top 3 will return the next month to pick up where the story left off.

Interested playwrights should email their first scene to by the first of every month for consideration in that month's performance. There is no submission fee, but selected scripts must be cast and rehearsed by the writers' themselves (staged readings are encouraged). Heller Theatre Company has contact information for a large group of interested actors available for the selected writers.

The 3 returning scripts will be paid a royalty and must be willing to write a continuation of the previous months' scene(s) until it doesn't get voted forward, or the story reaches its conclusion.

2018-19 SEASON

Heller Theatre Company is looking for 1-2 full-length original plays to produce for its 2018-19 Season.

As we are a smaller, black-box theatre, we do prefer the following for our productions:
- a small cast (no more than 10)
- limited settings (single-setting or minimal set changes)
- a diverse cast of all genders, ages, races, etc.
- an array of genres are acceptable: comedy, drama, musical, etc.

To submit your script or for more information, please email us at Royalties are paid to playwrights whose plays are performed.

Previously-performed full-length plays include I Wish You Actually Liked Me (and Other Familial Impossibilities) by Emile Adams, The Light Fantastic by David Blakely*, and most recently Time for Chocolate by Bruce Dean Willis.

*The Light Fantastic received the inaugural TATE for Best Original Play in 2017.
